The coolest thing just happened, I was on way to give blood in Swords when got to the Estuary Roundabout. Now, at 5 in the evening that place is mental enough. But today it was fantastic. Everything in the 3rd and 4th lanes (heading in to Malahide/Swords) was at a complete standstill. All because two mammy ducks were taking their babies to the Estuary (at least that's where I think they were heading, for all I know they could've been trying to get to TK Maxx). Seriously, every car was stopped!!!! The mammies just took it slow and got all the ducklings to the other side (cue joke) and got a round of applause from all the stuck drivers. I think, like me, everyone was probably in their cars listening to George Hook or Matt Cooper going on and on about no one being able to fly / riots in Greece / the frickin' recession and there, just in front of you, was a lovely happy story happening. I love ducks. May have mentioned that before. But especially love them holding up rush hour traffic to get across the road.
Oh, and ducks have the right of way!! x
p.s. No one was taking blood between the hours of 5 and 7 so I have to go back later. That will satisfy my late night cravings for crisps and chocolate. You can eat as much crisps and chocolate as you like after you give blood.
