Just home

Minus one son, who sent his brother in to ask if he, the missing son, could have a sleep over with his mate Niall.  We told son no. 1 to do his own dirty work but that if the mother of the house was happy to have one extra we were happy to let him stay.  She was and he did.
Went to the supermarket today whilst kinda (????) hungover and wow, it's so definitely the way to go shopping.  You can't remember why you're there OR what you came for but you see things that look vaguely familiar so you put them in your trolley.  Who cares if you didn't need three different kinds of chicken stock or dishwasher rinseaid (what is that?) or yet more toilet roll.  Means shopping in the future will be simpler because you have already bought these things.  Bought gorgeous cola to drink.  Think it's called 'Ye Olde Curiosity Cola' or something but it's delicious.  Home to meet with TD to discuss how wretched our estate is becoming for people driving too fast but was sent home as I couldn't concentrate.  So went to friends house for the kids to have a play and to have something to eat.
This was especially cool as I thought I was having her over.  Me going there meant no cleaning of here and no cooking.  ESPECIALLY good as all I seem to have bought at the supermarket is chicken stock and toilet roll.
Really nice to hang out with Anne, we became friends when we lived in Inchicore.  I had just had Harry and was desperately lonely and didn't really know what one was meant to do with a baby.  I was looking out the window one night when I saw a lady across the road and two houses up getting out of her car with a baby!!!!  Asked D. if he thought it would be stalkerish to go over and say 'I have a baby too, wanna be my friend'.  He said 'possibly'.  But the next day my public health nurse rang and said there's a lady across the road from you who has a baby and doesn't know anyone and is having trouble feeding her wee boy, fancy introducing yourself and helping her along?  I did.  She'd barely put the phone down to Anne when I was on her doorstep with a packet of biscuits going 'if the breastfeeding is making you cry, give up.  He'll be grand.'  We've been firm friens ever since.  And she stopped feeding lol.
The day she rang to tell me she'd given birth to her second son (who she fed very sucessfully for several months you'll be glad to know) I said 'I'm pregnant.  AGAIN.'  Kinda took the wind out of her sails.  Anyway, we no longer live across the road from each other but I love her to bits.  Plus, she is the kind of friend who'd help you hide a body.  Also, get you off should you be caught as she is also an excellent Solicitor.  Sooooo, she fed us today, kept an extra boy and gave me a beautiful bracelet from Pilgrim.  With friends like these life is sweet.
Time for a cup of tea and bed.  No more tequilla for me.  For a while.  Tomorrow possibly.  Sleep tight. xx
