We set out to go to a friend's school fundraiswer but the fact that it was just after lunch and we were hungry we kept moving until we ended up at the Point Village Market again. More stuff to see this week although I still think they are missing something. Love the Dublin Flea Market as there is such a huge variety of stuff to see and buy there whereas this market, to me, is all about just hanging out, nice food and good music. Great in itself but if you're me and you like mooching it would be nice to have more to mooch over.
The lovely pie people were there again this week and today me and Harry tried the henny penny, free range chicken, field mushrooms all in a cream sauce, shite, meant to buy one to bring home. Checked with Sharon (lovely lady who . . . er, runs it - who are the other two boyos? . . .er) and the pastry is indeed old-school. Only it's made with butter. So it's very bad for you but I reckon it's worth it. Oh, and while I can both remember and think of it. Their pies are now available in Fallon and Byrnes and The Gourmet Bank, Churchtown I think. Got distracted by the smell of the pies.
Harry then had a Taco, the other two boys had nachos and then we all went hunting for icecream. The bogus chap from last week was there but once bitten and all that and we found a lovely van selling sorbets and icecream. Only to have it completely dismissed by Harry who decided we should go to Emilys.
Wow. Harry and Moi went for the Mango icecream. Seriously, it was yellowy orange heaven (that's the colour obviously, not the flavour) and was delicious. Oscar, for his own reasons, went for tirramisu. Very nice indeed. And Arthur went for Mint. Was talking to the owner (Emily's dad - Emily wasn't allowed out to run the stall today seeing as how she's only two and half) and kids love mint. Must be the colour. I think it tastes like toothpaste. Anyway, all the icecream is hand and homemade and very, very nice. Should've gone looking further afield last week.
So, pies, icecream and one boy and his dog:
Billy was at the market!!!?? Love it!
