We got our space hoppers and headed down towards the Pepper Cannister Church and waited. They played House of Pain's Jump Around and we did. All of us. For one whole minute which is actually harder than you'd think. Esp. if you haven't been on one of these things since you were around your eldest son's age. Nine!
We saw breakdancers, fire eaters, jugglers, footballers, hot guys with their shirts off, magicians, dogs, kids, whales and I can't remember what else, it was a magic day. There was also a wooden play area where there were all these games set up, really simple stuff and it was brilliant. Rolling a ball up a slope, catch the peg etc. Clever, FREE and brilliant.
Oh, and Darren bust his trousers on the space hopper. Meant to say that. I think pictures will speak a 1000 words better than I can write so have a goo. Oh, and I was the one who shouted 'OFF' when the guy with a kilt slowed down with his stripping. He was most certainly fit and got my vote for that as well as his act. Go do this next year.
So, these are the hoppers. Loving the colours. Btw, this was done for a chairty for kids in Africa with AIDS. Will let you know how much was raised. Arthur, I should point out was well tired at this point. The Irish summer was er, too hot for him.
The guy up the ladder is the one who got his kit off. The other boys just danced. And boy, but are they brilliant dancers.
Couldn't stop humming Helter Skelter when I saw this. The rather nattily tanned fella is Vicktor, Argentinian, a football juggler and all-round entertainer. Very funny.
I can't remember this chap's name but he was French and made fantastic hats out of paper. Harry's one is only halfway there at this point.
Arthur and Harry, you ran marbles through the discs, kept them quiet for ages. The thing Harry is going through is cool, you have to get through the frame of strings without ringing any of the bells.
Again, another two simple wooden games. It rocked, absolutely rocked. Incidently Darren beat the little girl he was playing but I then beat him. Happy days.
Arthur trying his hand and Oscar chilling with Oscar.
Proof perfect that when the sun shines in Dublin it is the best place in the world to be.
