Occasionally I stick recipes in here, not as often as I used to mind you. I buy BBC Good Food Magazine every month and then I read 'em and store 'em. First I cook whatever is in the magazine I like, they I put the magazines in the shelf thingie and forget about them. So, I've decided when I make something I like I'm just going to whack the recipe in here. Pictures and recipe courtesy of BBC Good Food. Try it out, it's delicious and not too expensive - always a good thing at this time of year, God. When did life become so boring?
Ingredients:
500g piece pork fillet
For the Marinade:
4 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsl clear honey
Finely grated zest and juice of one orange.
Large knob of ginger, finely grated.
Then you:
Tip all the marinade ingredients into a shallow dish and stir to combine. Coat the pork in the marinade and, if you have time, leave for 1 hour or better still over night. Heat oven to 200C/fan 180c/gas 6.
Heat an ovenproof pan and take the pork out of the marinade. Brown on all sides, then baste over the rest of the marinade and roast the port for 20 minutes until cooked all the way though, basting with its juices every 5 minutes or so. Serve the pork sliced with rice or your favourite steamed greens.
Tip: Turn leftover pork into a tasty wrap by rolling it up in flour tortillas with hoisin sauce, cucumber wedges, shredded iceberg lettuce and spring onions.
Sounds delish!
