Today was insane in an odd kind of way. Met up with my lovely friend Colette and we had coffee and she lent me some great cds and it was wonderful. We don't talk as much as we used to on the phone these days. Back in the day when everyone used to write to each other I once wrote her a letter detailing where all the phone boxes I used to use when ringing her where. The one in #35, the one in Gill's house - babysitting, the one at Spar, at the book shop and the one at the church. Seriously! Now when the phone rings, I hide. Much rather have a face to face with people I love.
Then off for kids, sausage rolls, Easons to return cookbooks and get a fabulous new one (Bill Grainger) and then . . to bed. The headache that's been lingering since Sunday finally grabbed me and I gave in. Drank a pint and a half of water and tried to crash out for an hour. At 5pm??? What was I thinking?
Was lying in bed listening to kids playing on the street, something I love as it feels nice and safe an . . dunno really, I just get a kick out of hearing kids running riot up and down the road. My phone kept beeping and then #3 showed up.
#3 Mam?
Me Yeah?
#3 Can I ask you for something?
Me Depends?
#3 Can I borrow a hug from you, I'll give it back later?
Me Squeak!!!!
He borrowed several hugs, I didn't get to crash out for as long as I would have liked it but it was worth it for all the hugs he gave me back. I mean, look at this face:
My friend, the lovely Sinead, was gutted when she realised that the above look is not one he reserves solely for her. he uses it to devastating effect on every woman he is trying to impress. Works wonders on me. I so love that wee man.
He had me at Hello! He will have women falling head over heels for him all his life I reckon. How could you not with a smile like that x
