Showing friends how to make cake

Just had a lovely morning showing a couple of mates how to make the ginger cake (below).  Don't know if any of us learnt anything but I have to say I did enjoy it.  Raging the first cake wasn't like the first cake I made but what the hey.  And the cake I made today was better - shame about not having any nice pears.
Now, cos I was showing off, I have a tin of Carnation Caramel open.  Methinks I should definitely make something out of it.  Something with chocolate.  Mmmm, chocolate and toffee.  Shall let you know how I get on.
Had such a laugh this morning.  Love it when you have a group of people around you who just 'are', if you know what I mean.  No bullshit.  No showing off.  No trying to keep up or overtake the Joneses.  Just people living life and trying to see the fun side of it.
Yup, really like the women I had here today.  They didn't notice the scuff marks on the kitchen floor, they drank the horrible coffee I made and they made me laugh.  I don't know if they enjoyed it but I sure did.  PLUS, my house now smells of delicious ginger and Christmas smells.  Always a good thing.
